Sugar Skull inspired by the Calavera style face painting makeup used in the celebration of the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos. This is more of an avant garde take on the iconic image. Instead of the traditional hand painted technique this makeup used individual sequins. Different colors were incorporated to create the designs and white iridescent ones were used in place of the white face paint.

Kryolan Aquacolor in Black was applied as a base. Then each sequin is individually glued using Telesis 5 Adhesive. Purple eyeshadow was blended around the eyes. Added white screen fx contact lenses for a more dramatic effect. Entire makeup was a 2 hour process.
